ROSEVILLE, CA – Adult mosquito populations have increased in some areas of Placer County over the past several weeks. While West Nile Virus activity seems to be slowing, recent high temperatures and adult mosquito abundance, continue to present a risk to public health. To address this, the Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District will conduct truck-based mosquito adulticide applications on Wednesday September 30, 2009 beginning at 3:30am until 6:30am depending on favorable weather conditions.
Trucks will be applying Pyrocide® 7396 (pyrethrin + PBO) by ultra low volume fog to target adult mosquitoes as they are flying.
Applications will be targeted in the following areas:
Northern Lincoln
Truck Based adult mosquito treatments will take place in the North Lincoln area on September 30, 2009 beginning at 3:30am until 6:30am, weather permitting.
Areas affected will be: west from Joiner Parkway to Waverly Dr. /Teal Hollow between 1st Street and Nicolaus Rd, and East of Joiner Parkway to P Street, between Shellback Dr. and 7th Street
Amoruso Way Area
Truck-based adult mosquito treatments will take place in and around Amoruso Way on September 30, 2009 beginning at 3:30am until 6:30am, weather permitting.
Affected areas will be along Amoruso Way and side streets north of Sunset Blvd West.
Sun City Roseville Area
Truck Based adult mosquito treatments will take place in the Sun City Roseville area on September 30, 2009 beginning at 3:30am until 6:30am, weather permitting.
Areas affected will be: Sun City Roseville between Blue Oaks Blvd and Pleasant Grove Blvd on both sides of Fiddyment Rd west to Westpark.
